Of the utmost importance is to talk over with your fiance each others preferences in relation to the honeymoon. You should not presume that you are inherently aware of the type of honeymoon they would prefer. Have a thorough discussion of location, budget, duration and accommodation. Both of you should initially create an individual list of preferences and then you should make a comparison to find aspects that they have in common.

Most grooms hate all aspects of wedding planning, with one exception. That exception is planning the honeymoon.
